2. Job Description

We are looking for a skilled and motivated Senior System Engineer (Linux / VMware / IaC) to manage, supervise, and optimize system infrastructure across both hardware and software.

You will play a key role in building new infrastructure while maintaining and improving the existing secure environment. The position sits within a technical & tactical support team responsible for enabling special investigative methods, crisis situations, and real-time technical interception capabilities.

3. Key Responsibilities

• Manage, maintain, and upgrade hypervisors and virtualization platforms (VMware)
• Configure, deploy, and administer Linux systems (Ubuntu, Debian, Red Hat) ensuring availability, security, and performance
• Implement and support Infrastructure as Code (IaC) practices to automate infrastructure deployment and management
• Troubleshoot complex system issues and drive continuous improvement across the environment
• Maintain technical documentation, operational procedures, and contribute to the infrastructure roadmap

4. Profile & Competencies

Must-Have

• Senior-level experience in system engineering / system administration (10+ years preferred)
• Strong expertise in Linux administration and VMware virtualization environments
• Hands-on experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC), ideally within VMware environments
• Proven troubleshooting capabilities in complex, secure infrastructures
• Eligibility for TOP SECRET security clearance (mandatory)

Nice-to-Have

• Experience with Windows Server environments
• Knowledge of mobile telecommunications technologies
• Experience contributing to long-term infrastructure strategy
• Experience in highly secure, mission-critical, or regulated environments
• Fluency in Dutch or French with understanding of the other national language, plus strong technical English
