Are you ready to lead risk management at the highest level?
Our partner is looking for a Head of Financial Risks to join the Risk Management division in Brussels. In this leadership role, you will oversee financial, liquidity, ALM, and hedging risks while guiding a team of specialists and collaborating with top stakeholders across the business and Group level.
Your Role
As Head of Financial Risks, you will report directly to the CRO and lead a team of 3 professionals. You will work closely with the CEO, CFO, investment teams, actuaries, and Group Risk functions, ensuring best practices in financial risk management while maintaining regulatory compliance and strengthening governance.
Responsibilities
- Oversee and manage financial, liquidity, ALM, and hedging risk processes across the company.
- Guide best practices in risk appetite and policies, ensuring alignment with Group frameworks.
- Review and strengthen internal controls for financial and liquidity risk.
- Manage solvency capital requirements (market & counterparty risks), including methodologies and validation.
- Support proactive risk optimisation between assets and liabilities under BEGAAP and Solvency II.
- Deliver second-line opinions on new investment products and reinsurance transactions.
Must Have
- University degree in Economics, Finance, or Actuarial Science; CFA qualification is a plus.
- 10+ years’ experience in financial risk management, including derivatives and liquidity risks, ideally in life insurance.
- Strong knowledge of Solvency II and BEGAAP frameworks; experience with regulatory bodies.
- Native French or Dutch speaker with strong skills in the other national language, plus fluent English.
